Monthly Event Hosted by Big Brothers Big Sisters of KC
June 24, 2015 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City (BBBSKC) creates and supports life-changing friendships for children in Kansas City. The fully renovated headquarters in the Crossroads Arts District is a spectacular facility. The 115 year old building has come to life with great use of technology and modern office furniture, without taking away from the charm of the building. With great market visibility and signage, the location is ideal to attract more volunteers while also being accessible to the children and families in the program. The signature 2,000 sq. ft. rooftop deck is impressive, with an amazing west-facing view of the sunset. Open concept office space, a theater-style learning center, brick walls, tall ceilings, a children’s lounge and many smart amenities makes this a must see building. With a series of twenty (20) televisions and monitors throughout the building, you will quickly see stories and images of how this agency is impacting the lives of thousands of children facing adversity in our city.
Enjoy this building tour and discover why BBBSKC was just named the number one Big Brothers Big Sisters agency in America!
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City (BBBSKC) is the largest and oldest mentoring program in Kansas City, drawing on the experience and expertise of the 100-year old national model of professionally creating and supporting one-to-one friendships. Originally founded as a Kansas City Jaycee project in 1965, BBBSKC has served more than 22,000 at risk youth in the KC metro area.
At BBBSKC we create and manage life-changing friendships that would not naturally exist. These long-term, one-to-one mentoring relationships between children facing adversity and adult volunteers who are willing to share their time and experience, are professionally created and professionally supported by the BBBSKC staff to ensure that they are long-lasting and impactful.
Because of the influence of a strong and enduring adult, children in our program are more likely to graduate from high school and are less likely to be involved in violence and risky behavior. By creating higher aspirations, greater confidence and better relationships with caring adults, the lives of these children are changed for the better, forever.
