Monthly Event Hosted by Centric Projects LLC
October 24, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Join us at another great project located at 520 Pennway. In 2017, Centric Projects, Superior Bowen and Inspired Homes formed a partnership to become owner/tenants of the historic building with plans for a $6.5 million renovation, relocation of 300 jobs and adding an additional 140 over 10 years. Plans call for preserving the original, historic building, which opened as Jensen-Salesbery Laboratories, an animal health lab, in 1919. There have been additions over the years, and the design includes a rooftop conference room and deck to the three-story building!
KEM Studios described the interior design as modern, with an industrial feel. The existing surface parking lot will be upgrade and have 73 spaces. Centric Projects is the contractor. “Our design approach is to celebrate the original structure and make sense of the additions,” noted architect Satterwhite. A new main entrance will be designed for the north side of the 50,000 square-foot building, and the historic entrance also will be retained on the south side.
The project qualified for tax abatement under the EDCKC’s Enhanced Enterprise Zones (EEZ) guidelines. Developers indicate that the project would not have been feasible absent the EEZ tax abatement. The development team is hopeful that 520 Penn will serve as a catalyst for the West Crossroads neighborhood. You won’t want to miss this one!
Also, if you would like to dress up in a Halloween costume, please do so as there will be prizes for those voted Best by the audience!

We plan to revisit Centric Projects this month as we haven’t been to their current location. Five years ago, we had an event at their business when they were on Main street downtown. Check it out, 2013’s monthly event hosted by Centric Projects!!!
