Monthly Event Hosted by Northeast KC Chamber of Commerce
June 27, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
The Urban Core is excited to tour the Northeast KC Chamber of Commerce (NEKCCoC) headquarters located on the historic Independence Avenue. Their mid-century building is also utilized by the Independence Avenue Community Improvement District (IACID) which serves to improve the community surrounding Independence Avenue through supporting local businesses, beautification, and educational and celebratory events.
The building is named after one of Kansas City’s Founding Fathers, William Miles Chick, KC’s first Postmaster. Originally built in 1964 as a Post Office, its expansive interior space is now re-purposed for NEKCCoC/IACID business meetings and community gatherings. Come celebrate the five year anniversary of the IACID where you will see an elaborate model of Independence Ave, work by local artists, and enjoy the exciting improvements underway along the Avenue of the Historic Northeast.
