Monthly Event Hosted to Stay-At-Home

We want to update the UCG membership on recent developments and plans for UCG. Just as the events for March and April were cancelled, we will not have an event at a venue in May. Plans for UCG events from June through the end of the year are being pursued, including a December Event – a first for UCG. A special 25th anniversary event is also part of this planning. As we adapt to the coronavirus pandemic we will be following the guidance and policies of our local leaders and encourage you to do the same.
The UCG Board is preparing to resume normal activity, meeting by teleconference since March. Bob Long has resigned from the Board for personal reasons. The Board has transitioned to new leadership with Bruce Cramer elected as Chairman, Bruce Holloway as Vice-chairman; Ben Skalitzky as Secretary; Ron Williamson as Treasurer. Other Board members are Shawn Adams and Laurel DeFeece. Two new committees have been formed: Young Professionals and an Advisory Committee which consists of long-term members and Founders.
Some members have asked: what happens with their membership since so many meetings have been missed? The Board has extended each member’s membership term by the number of months that Events were not held due to coronavirus. At this time, that is three months so if your dues were paid in January, your next invoice would be in April 2021.
The Board of Directors is approaching these unprecedented, uncertain times as an opportunity for the Urban Core Group to continue evolving into a better, stronger and more viable organization for the future. We ask you to join us in furthering our mission in the community. Please feel free to contact a Board member with your suggestions or interest in volunteering for our future events.
